Spanning 660 acres, AZPG operates as a fully equipped R&D center where Komatsu iterates on ultra-class haul trucks, autonomous vehicle systems, and battery-electric platforms, all under extreme and highly controlled test conditions.
In April 2025, Cascadia Scientific achieved a significant technical milestone at AZPG, participating in a rigorous fuel metering validation campaign. The testing was part of a multi-phase collaboration with Komatsu, designed to scrutinize the accuracy, of Cascadia’s high-resolution fuel metering systems, technologies that are at the heart of modern fleet decarbonization and performance optimization.
Precision Under Pressure – Fuel Measurement Benchmarking
Komatsu deployed a gold-standard, high-precision load cell rig to track minute fuel weight changes across multiple engine conditions. Simultaneously, Cascadia’s platform measured feed and return flows, temperature-corrected volumes, and fuel density to calculate real-time consumption.
